Kingsroe Band Design Project

Kingsroe is a nine piece band from the New Orleans area. They cover all venues from weddings conventions, parties, and clubs. They consist of a powerful horn section and a wonderful group of singers. Kingsroe cover such artists as...Chicago, Temptations, The Four Tops, Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Marvin Gaye & Tammy Terelle, Van Morrison, Whitney Houston, Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Irma Thomas, and L.T.D. just to name a few.

Kingsroe was inducted into the Louisiana Hall of Fame April 21, 2002 along with many other Louisiana's finest musicians. This group has played in New Orleans and it's surrounding areas since the 70's. We have also played along the Gulf Coast including: Florida, Alabama and Mississippi.

Kingsroe's website has a great feel to it that promotes their music as well as their style. The background is made up of song lyrics of the music they sing on a black background and features a skyline of the real New Orleans made into a vector image. The colors they wanted were originally light blue, but they said it had to much of an old style feel to it so we went to a dark red. Much better.

Against my word they wanted to have the music play on page load. In order to accomplish this without designing the site in flash I had to design the site in frames. I know that frames are not the best for SEO, but they wanted their music playing on every page without starting over every time you selected a new page.Their site has dynamic content ranging from a gallery, a play list, to a schedule. Their schedule is displayed in two places. One on the homepage and the other on its own page.

Lastly, we included a booking page that is displayed on a floating bar that stays with the visitor throughout their experience on the site.

His entire site contains valid HTML 4.01, and valid CSS 2.1. Kingsroe completion time was about 6 days.
