Outage Gear Design Project

Outage Gear is an online store featuring apparel and accessories for the average nuclear industry worker. They also sell rad bags, their very own creation. They started with an idea that quickly became a brand known throughout the nuclear industry...now it is time to monetize that brand on shirts, hats, and pretty much anything a nuclear worker could wear and be proud of.

The entire site is based on the Magento ecommerce framework which allows the website owners to easily add and update products on their site without our help. Magento is a easy, efficient storefront that allows even the most inexperienced person to sell products and profit online.

Their website and logo was designed by us to reflect our idea of the nuclear industry....grungy. As you can see in their logo we used many techniques to make it look old and worn, but still good enough to completely brand a product from nothing.

They wanted something that I normally do not do, a splash page. Since they were insistent....they got one. After a few revisions on the look of it I think it came out very well and really sells the site to the visitor. The cooling tower surrounded by nuclear symbols just works.

The entire site contains valid HTML 4.01, and valid CSS 2.1. Outage Gear completion time was about 1 month.
