Sakura Restaurant And Sushi Bar Design Project

Sakura Restaurant and Sushi bar is...well, a restaurant and sushi bar. They are located in Biloxi, MS and were one of the first Japanese restaurants to appear in the area. Sakura is locally owned and operated by Louis Luu. The restaurant, like the website has a lot of light blue textures inside and out.

The website itself was a simple design to begin with, but as we began to finish the site we ran into issues. For example the menu they have has a lot of items and was very long. In order to prevent the visitors from having to scroll up to get back to the menu we provided a floating menu that follows the user down the page. On this menu we have the Sakura flower that slightly hangs over the content of the page. Not to much, but enough to give the website a special touch.

On their about page we wrote a custom Google map that allows the visitor to get real time directions from their house or business straight to Sakura. They can either see the map to get the directions or they can print out the directions with a button click. They can have these instructions provided in English, Spanish, or Japanese.

While on the about page they can also add reviews that are approved by the Sakura staff. They can give the restaurant a one - five star rating. The approval is only to protect themselves from spammers.

Sakura completion time was about 5 days.
